Financial Aid and Awards	November 13, 2020 - 1:46pm	The VIU Financial Aid & Awards Office is committed to supporting students in their search for financial assistance, both in the form of loans, grants and awards, and in helping students to make the best use of these resources. Financial Aid & Awards staff assist and support students throughout their academic pursuits. The Financial Aid & Awards Office works closely with the VIU Faculties and the Student Services branch of the Ministry of Advanced Education to foster and support student access to financial assistance.

Library	November 13, 2020 - 2:33pm	Situated on the traditional territories of the Coast Salish Peoples, the Vancouver Island University (VIU) Library supports learning, teaching and research needs at the University’s four campuses and beyond. The Library is known as a leader for consistently identifying, leveraging, and advancing strategic local, regional, national, and international collaborations, for both institutional and collective benefit.
Math Learning Centre	November 13, 2020 - 3:15pm	VIU students are welcome to come and get help from fellow students. The centre is staffed by student-tutors selected from Vancouver Island University science programs. Learn more about the Math Learning Centre
Peer Supported Learning	November 13, 2020 - 3:20pm	Peer-Supported Learning (PSL) offers free, regularly scheduled, informal study sessions led by a senior student who has been successful in selected courses. At its core the PSL program helps students integrate what to learn with how to learn and it has been successfully implemented around the world as an effective study program.
Positive Space	November 13, 2020 - 3:27pm	The Positive Space Alliance seeks to raise awareness of diversity in sexual orientation and gender identity and to challenge the patterns of silence that continue to marginalize these communities.
Sexual Violence Support, Prevention and Education	November 13, 2020 - 3:32pm	Vancouver Island University (VIU) is committed to creating a respectful, safe and supportive learning, working and living environment where members of the University community are free from sexual violence and sexual misconduct. VIU’s Sexual Misconduct Policy and Procedure demonstrate this commitment and ensure everyone, regardless of gender identity, gender expression or sexual orientation feels safe and supported.
The Writing Centre	November 13, 2020 - 4:46pm	Qualified and friendly faculty tutors are available for one-to-one consultations to provide assistance with any aspect of your writing, such as understanding the assignment, developing your thesis, structuring your essay, using and citing sources, grammar problems. Note: we don’t proofread your essay. That’s your job! We also run workshops on key aspects of the writing process. We are open for fall and spring semesters, and for the summer intersessions. This is a free VIU service.

Prerequisites and Co-requisites	January 27, 2021 - 12:28pm	What Are Prerequisites and Co-requisites? Prerequisites (or pre-requisites), are specific requirements (usually another course or courses) that you have to complete before you begin another course. Co-requisites are similar, except that they may be taken at the same time. Check the prerequisites of a course before registering. If you do not have the prerequisite, you may be de-registered at a time when it may be too late to register for something else.
