About the Volunteer Tutor ProgramFree tutoring is offered as a support to any VIU student in any subject, including adult upgrading courses, trades and certificate programs, and university courses. The focus is usually academic, but sometimes students request tutors to help them “stay on track” or “talk things over with.” Tutoring is not the primary form of course delivery. The ultimate goal of tutoring is to help students become independent, efficient learners. |

Qualified and friendly faculty tutors are available for one-to-one consultations to provide assistance with any aspect of your writing, such as understanding the assignment, developing your thesis, structuring your essay, using and citing sources, grammar problems. Note: we don’t proofread your essay. That’s your job! We also run workshops on key aspects of the writing process. We are open for fall and spring semesters, and for the summer intersessions. This is a free VIU service. |

The VIU Student Health Clinic is open to provide medical health care to students enrolled at Vancouver Island University. The Student Health Clinic aims to provide health care, education and preventive medicine. The Student Health Clinic is staffed by Nurse Practitioners and supported by a Medical Office Assistant (MOA). Nurse Practitioners provide accessible, efficient, and effective health care that meets the highest standards of practice. |
