Once the semester begins you can try out your schedule and see how it works for you. You may want to change your course selections or you may want to increase or decrease the number of courses you have selected. The first two weeks are sometimes referred to as the "Add/Drop Period", but it's always best to make these decisions as early as possible so that you can settle in and get moving forward. It is very unusual to add a course after the end of the second week. There are a few things to consider when adding or dropping courses. |

Academic Concern Once you’ve started your classes at VIU, you must maintain a minimum average grade of “C” (2.0 GPA) in all your classes. Once a year, we review all students who have taken at least 9 credits in the previous year and check their overall GPA. Students whose GPA falls below 2.0 in the previous year are noted with Academic Concern. |

Once all documentation has been received, your application will be reviewed by our Admissions Office. Applications to some programs are also reviewed by faculty and may involve an interview or assessment test. You will be notified of the results of our review. |
